Jeddah compounds
I am arriving next week in Jeddah. The company will sort out a hotel for a few weeks and then I will rent until o find a decent compound for my wife and I. She will join me when the accommodation is sorted. Which compound would people suggest for a British couple, I have researched loads of them (sharb, Mura, lotus, Arabian). Currently thinking two bed would like a patch of grass for bbq's. Want tennis, squash, diving social life. Reasonable allowance 125k

Re: Jeddah compounds
Welcome.
It's been a while since we were in Jeddah so no idea on prices these days. We lived in Sierra Village ( Arabian Homes ) , just off Hera St, north of Jeddah. Nice compound, good location as it was nearby lots of things. Arabian Homes had around 4 compounds at the time in Jeddah, and were quite popular.
You've not mentioned kids, only that you are a couple, so I guess no need to mention the schools.
Price wise, Jeddah is/was cheaper than Riyadh, so would think you'd be able to get a decent apartment for that money. Knew lots of people on Sharbatly who enjoyed life there. Perhaps also want to look at Basateen(?) compound. At the time, it also was the same site at the British Continental School, was quite popular.
Most compounds will have the amenities you want, and there are plenty of diving schools locally where you can learn, get the PADI qualification and also then go out on weekends.
