Default Jeddah Airport Chaos

I cannot think of a worse place to be stranded. At least it's not during the Hajj pilgrimage. http://gulfnews.com/computer-failure...rport-1.793014

Last year during the whole 'Ash Cloud' episode, loads of people were stranded at Jeddah and Saudia left them to fend for themselves. No food, no water, no hotel accommodation - they were just treated like s.hit.

To be honest, I actually think Jeddah airport is better organised than Riyadh, but wouldn't like to be stranded in either. Riyadh airport ( Terminal One - Foreign Airlines ) doesn't even have a shop one can mooch around. It has to be the most boring airport in the world.

I like Riyadh airport. It's like going back in time. Very different to any other airport in the world.

They are developing a duty free shop in one of the concourses. Travelled through Sharjah airport last week. Their duty free has a booze section.

Coming through Riyadh immigration I had my passport taken and was left sat there for 2 hours before having it given back with no explanation as to why. A man with a 70's moustache and too much gel in his slicked back hair just said "sorry" and sent me on my way.

I'll be in Jeddah at some point in the next week, hopefully I don't get messed around.
