Default Insulin

Hi,
Considering a move to Riyadh but partner is type one diabetic, so needs insulin 4 times a day.
Can anyone advise if this is free available within Riyadh etc. as cant seem to find out!

seeing as there is an extremely high rate of diabetes I would be amazed if it isn't.

I had read there were a lot of sufferers out there...but can not seem to find anyone that knows!

Would this not be covered by any medical care that forms part of any package deal that you may be offered.

In the short term you could check with your GP as to the amount that you may be able to travel with in the first instance?

Sometime the medical insurance company do not cover cronic conditions and this could be under that banner, needs to be specifically asked and included in terms and conditions because if the company change med insurers you could be left high and dry

I am told it is covered under medical insurance but that is the treatment of it, where the insulin is seen as the daily requirement, not the treatment of the disease.
The most she can get is a 4 week supply from an English GP, hence why we are trying to find out how easy it is to get it over in Riyadh.
