Default Importing car to Dubai?

Hi,

I'm in a bit of a predicament and I was hoping that I might get some good information from you guys after trawling the net for ages.

I move over to Dubai to work for Al Naboodah Constrution on the 28th June, however I've had not luck in selling my car, now I know that I can't register a RHD in Dubai so my idea was to buy a LHD american car in the UK and import it to Dubai. I have a couple of reasons for doing this as the finance on the car I currently have won't be covered by what I've been offered for it, about £5k, I know it would be cheaper to buy a RHD in Dubai but I'm not sure how the auto loans work out there, would I be able to buy a car and add the difference of what I owe on my car in the UK, say Dubai Car cost AED 100,000 and I needed the GBP equivalent of AED 20,000 would I be allowed to get a auto loan of AED 120,000, pay AED 100,000 for the Dubai Car and send the balance back to pay off the finance back home?

Also does anything need to be done regarding the spec of a US car to cope with the heat etc. as most trucks and the like from the US are designed for the Southern States and places like Vegas have a similar heat issue as Dubai.

Thanks for any light you can shed.

Cheers

Dale

Ditch the car, don't import a yank mobile, for a start, they're crap, secondly, it's a waste of cash when you can get one cheaper over in DXB, with your loss, things will even out.

Search through threads, quite a few on cars and finance...
