I have just moved to dubai and need to get a uae driving licence but i dont have my paper form that goes with it is there a way around this or a way of getting it over here thanks for your help

As far as I know, it's not possible without the paper section.

Can you not get the paper section sent over with DHL/Fedex? Failing that contact the DVLC?

I think you will need to contact Swansea and have them send out a duplicate paper license.

Isn't it? Oh bugger. I have no idea where mine is either. I'm still using a UK licence as I have a hire car. Must be a way of getting a duplicate from DVLA. Probably on their website.

Do you have residency? Once you have residency you cannot have a hire car on your UK license. You have to get a UAE license.

Not yet. I only do a bit of work for a company here & haven't pushed them to sort it out. I leave the UAE every 6-8 weeks so it hasn't been a problem so far.

Most of the people who got a UAE driver's licence most probably got it from the mini market across the street...

If you have the new style one then the paper attachement is not needed in order to change it over.

New style? Is that recent? I've the photo license, still needed the paper slip that it comes with to get a UAE license.

Well, thats the rule, but I didn't need to show my paper bits (tee hee) to get my new licence.

done the licence thing a few times now, 4 temporary and 2 permanent and never once needed the paper bit, just as well since i dont have it.
