Salam is like a department store, it has a good photography section though. Sells lots of designer branded clothes as well, it is popular with the arabs. Has quite a good bedding section. Similar to Jashanmals but got more brands I would say.

There is a company called MOSTAFAWI TRADING, the same company that sell Maglite, Dickies, Victornox knives and Caterpillar safety boots who sell Pelican which are robust and waterproof tool boxes.
Their main shop is in Bur Dubai near the Bank of Baroda phone number 2283363, they have outlets in many of the large malls too who usually have a few models in stock.
I bought a few of their cases to protect expensive/delicate test equipment, the cases are expensive but much less that the equipment inside them. Best bet is to buy in the US if you can.
