Being last minute sorts we're trying to come over to your neck of the woods this weekend. Al Qasr quoted 15,000dhs and JBH 5,000dhs per night. this got us to thinking that perhaps we don't need to be by the beach but by a mall with lots for sproglets to do.

So.. The Address Dubai Mall is full, what's the name of the hotel attached to the souk. Or any others near by??

there are two address hotels, did you try them both...? otherwise, qamardeen, the palace or al manzil are all downtown (the palace is the one next to the souk)...there is a new radission blu opened nearby, but it's right next to the overpass, so not sure whether it's a bit noisy!

over the road is the al murooj rotana...

not too far away, there are all the hotels on the sheikh zayed road...shangri la or dusit are the nearest...

I looked up the rates for two nights this weekend in Dubai and found plenty of top quality hotels for 1,000-1,500 AED per night. Amwaj Rotana in JBR seems to be a good deal if you want something by the beach.

Hotels around the Mall are indeed cheaper. Depends on what you want to do. The sea water is probably bathwater temperature by now so as long as you have a chilled pool what more do you need?

Ended up at Address Marina. We decided it was important to be able to walk straight into a mall for whomever was left behind holding the small baby.

Not a lot.

Cinema, TGI's, some crap shops, some alright shops, but there's a little train that drives around the mall which I'm keen to ride on...so your kids should love it.
