Cool Holiday in RAK

Morning boys and girls.
Just googling for a break in November to escape the pit for Eid. Is Ras Al Khaimah a good relaxing place. Dont want much just pool and beach and maybe a little trip to Dubai for the day. Kids and hubby in tow. Looking at the Hilton Resort and Spa Villas currently and they're doing a good deal and flights are as cheap as chips too.... Anyone?

I know i would prefer some place closer to Dubai; it can take up to 1.5 hours to go to Dubai

I lived and worked in RAK for a time.
There's really not an awful lot there for tourists. The weather is very very hot at this time of year.... like tarmac-melting hot.
The Hilton's very nice, and if you're just looking for beach and sun, you'll be fine.

I'm at the Cove Rotana RAK (or whatever it's called) next weekend for a meeting - I'll post some feedback. (Looks nice on the website)

if you have a villa with a private pool, it's very nice...service is rubbish though, and the restaurant is decidedly average...

banyan tree in rak is really gorgeous...but there is nothing to do in rak, i can't imagine going for more than a couple of days...

True, me and my mate ended up in A+E at 3am pissed as rats there a while ago, it's like being in the third world and there was no cabs to take us back - was a mare.

And yeah the villas at the Cove are ace but we had a room the night before and we treat a whole lot better when we stayed in the villa, cheap summer deals at the moment though, villas down from 3k anigh to 1k.
