Hi everyone,
Can someone please tell me what to do - my boyfriend has been offered jobs in Dubai and Perth, Australia and we have no idea which one to pick - the jobs are both equally good so we can't make a decision based on that. So, has anyone out there worked in both Dubai and Perth? Which did you prefer? I have spent hours on the internet and they both sound great, I've been to Perth before so know I would like it there, but Dubai sounds ace. We keep changing our minds and no matter how long we think about it, we're no closer to deciding. Help!
What are working hours like in Dubai? I'm a lawyer and worried I'd be at it 14 hours a day, 6 days a week. Also, does Dubai have little neighbourhoods where you can walk out your apartment to a bar or cafe or do you have to drive everywhere? I keep reading about how bad the traffic is, is it really so terrible?
Any advice would be really gratefully received - we're not quite at the coin tossing stage yet, but it's getting close!
Thanks!

Not worked in Perth, but have been there.
I'd take it over Dubai everytime.
Enough said.

Have spent a fair amount of time in both. Never worked in either for any length though. I have to agree, Perth every time.

If your up there in the corporate world, DSB might not be so bad, but it'll probably be easier to get a visa for of the two, so you might as well look at Perth first...DXB's on the way home if it doesn't work out too
Check the wiki, don't know about perth, but there must be a fair bit of info in there? there's certainly a bit in the dxb section to have a look over though

I've got laywer mates in Dubai and they are have a top time (media law). We've been here in Dubai about 2.5 years now and are still loving it here. My wife LOVES Aus and would move there in a second given the right circumstance....
I think Dubai is a blast, different, exciting, fun and (yes, still) a good place to get some cash together. But for most it's not for ever....
I've never been to Perth....(nice conundrum you have!)

No question....Dubai.
At the moment, there is less Aussies in Dubai than in Perth. I think.
If someone can explain to me why them stinkin offspring of convicts call us 'whingin poms' I will show my arse in Burtons window.
They whinge non-stop, they put W10 to shame.
And although there is no solid proof, I thought pom was 'prisoner of her Majesty'. Which makes them them the whinging poms. The world has gone mad.

Perth (amazingly)
Even with Howard at its worst it's less of a right wing monster than Dubai.
Jim Davidson calls Dubai a paradise...make of that what you will.
