Default IT help!

My computer is running v e r y slowly these days, so can someone please tell me how to to the thing that checks the speed my internet is running? I pay for fastest broadband but there is nothing fast about it

Also, how do I de-frag my computer pls?

Finally, my McAfee protection has expired. Does anyone know where I can buy the software (cheaply) in Dubai and then I have it for good?

Thank you

A confused and exasperated LG

Leave it outside... it'll defrag nicely today...

err.... start, all programs, accessories, system tools - click disk defragmenter.

it might help a bit for speed, but I'm having loads of speed issues with an older laptop too - suppossedly the best way to get the perfromance back is to reformat the c drive and start from fresh - NOT RECOMENDED IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING! (and i don't)...

So is mine....I find a reboot helps..... Even if you buy Mcafee, it won't be updated after 12 months unless u subscribe for updates, and pay the costs!!!

Have u got ms spyware beta, its a free download from miscrosft. Sounds like u have spyware somewhere.

Is someone hijacking yr internet connection. (mayhaps JD is back!!!)

Hey TS,

Try microsoft anti spyware, its a good idea to install a firewall too, zone alarm is pretty good and it free too. Check for a virus too there is a free online virus detection program trendmicro housecall, it can scan your computer for virus online. Hope that helps

And Yah I am alive

I wonder about that some times too

Its a good idea to test ur machine with online virus scan cause some viruses can make locally installed antivirus think that they are not virus and also those are not updated as often as it should be. Wife is expecting so it will be a while before I can come out. Any news about Joseph? whats new with you?

Has anyone had any problems with this mobile phone virus? Not sure whats happened to mine - had a strange thing happened last week whereby I made a call which was logged and at the same time another call was logged in my phone for 58 mins (same time dialled as the previous call - so impossible) - haven't had my bill yet so no idea whats happened. Anyway a couple of days later the whole phone has gone kaput!!!!!!!!!!!!!
