Got my offer today. Been told by the agency i went through its good for my age (24) but what do you lot think that already live and work out there?

Salary 15000Dhs a month
Accomodation 5000Dhs a month
Transportation 2500Dhs a month
Air Ticket .420Dhs

30 days holiday

Interested in your opinions.

5000 dhs pm accommodation allowance isn't much will either get you a room in a shared villa/apartment or a place in International City

so 22,500 a month all in, I'd say thats pretty decent at your age, get a shared place and you'll be laughing on that cash.

Have seen quite regularly rooms to share in villas in MIRDIFF. Good area generally, Seen ranging from 3.5k-6k AED per month. Spinneys noticeboard in uptown mirdiff is a good place to look.

I live in International City (Italy). It was ok when I first moved in but is now overcrowded, no parking, quite a few flats being leased for labourers. Its also got traffic problems for access,near sewage plant etc. I am paying 45K for the last 12 months for a 1 bedroom flat. Expect the rent to be nearer 55K for a 1 bedroom and 50K for a Studio now.....lots of new buildings so you would find a place of your own, well within your budget. Not the best place by a long chalk but people do make it sound worse than what it actually is.(including me). It suited me, my company paid a 1 off check of 150K for rent, so it allowed me to have a bonus in advance of my first year....I work at the airport and journey time is labout 20 mins in the morning. Yeah traffic can suck sometimes. I'm in England CBD, no problems parking here. You should be able to get one for 60K with gym, pool and parking. I quite like it here, but yes, labourers are becoming more prevalant.

As for the package, your a bright lad, how much money would you need to earn in the UK to have 2K sterling a month after your housing and transport bills are paid?

Let the Bemer wait. Save up to buy a 2 bed apartment. Then move there and rent out one of the rooms. If your smart with your money you should have a deposit within a year.
