Just spoke to the lass on the phone at showtime, the deal is all the channels they have, which is quite a bit, films, sport etc etc, thats dir 294 a month, but to get the showbox things, where you can pause, rewind, record stuff in two rooms has an installation fee of dir 599,

anyone got this? can you get out of paying or even haggle them down? You can in the UK,

You might wanna see if its cheaper to get it through e-vision. They usually have specials (which are lame) if you sign up for a year subscription. It only knocks a couple hundred dirham off installation and first months charge.

you don't need to the showbox thing really, we ain got it, just a dvd recorder which we put on time to tape stuff

You don't need to go for the Platinum package unless you really want Showtime in 2 rooms.
I've just paid the 600dhs to have showbox installed. Far better option than a DVD recorder with HD because you can record one channel whilst watching another.

am happy I got the showbox installed.

Spugsy, get the Showbox, and tape all the Newcastle games from now until the end of the season, .....at least that way, you stand a chance of seeing them win a match !

Go for the recording HD thingy...if my experience of the same Sky+ system is anything to go by it means you actually have a life and can watch the same shows as everyone else at a time that suits you. So more evenings in the Pub socialising with real people etc and less waiting for the new season of Greys Anatomy...oops meant Prison Break...Honest!

I'm going for the lot, might as well, I'm done in after work so don't do much through the week unfortunately, and I can watch footy in one room and mrs spugsy can watch 'fab 5' or summat in the other if we want.
