Question A few questions re. moving to Bahrain

Hello

We are an Irish couple in our twenties moving to Bahrain from Singapore, I have read a lot of the threads on here to try and answer my Q's but haven't had much luck...

1. I am a professional makeup artist, mostly commercial work - tv, fashion shows, etc. Would I get work in Bahrain? Does anyone know if there are agencies that represent you for work etc?

2. Are there reasonable medical specialists in Bahrain? We have good insurance but I will need to see a Urologist 2-3 times a year for check-ups

Any help you guys can give me would be much appreciated

Hi and welcome,

Sexy avatar, by the way..............

1 - I'm asking a good friend - I'll get back to you.

2 - Yes, very many good specialists and medical centres here (very well equipped hospitals, mostly). You'll find what you need.

Bahrain's the best location in the Middle East - when are you arriving?

Hey, thanks for the reply and for asking your friend for me

We are arriving in about 2 months roughly, once everything is sorted.
We've been in Singapore for 2 years - I'm sure it will be a bit of a culture shock!

When I was in Bahrain, myself/friends had occasion to use the BDF (Bahrain Defence Force) Hospital and the American Mission Hospital, and both were fine.

Bahrain Specialist Hospital in Juffair. The newest hospital in BAH, in saying that though it's been open for a few years though.. make sure that your insurance covers everything though because they are known for running all the tests they can ($$$).
www.bsh.com.bh/

Awali Hospital in Awali (near Riffa) doesn't have a website that I know of. It is the BAPCO hospital but is frequented mostly by expats.

There are also others like Bahrain International Hospital, American Mission Hospital but the most popular are the two above.

Hope this is helpful somewhat.. x

Ditto..............

BDF is excellent - the more serious the need, the better the treatment in my view - for example, they do open heart surgery, quite complicated operations, with a very good reputation.

The others mentioned are pretty highly regarded too............
