Default Fender-bender... need advice.

We've lived in Dubai for a few years, and somehow haven't been in a car accident till now!

Someone drove into our car at the mall last night. :curse:
Fortunately, the police gave us the "green slip" meaning it's not our fault.

What happens next?

Call your dealer - he will advise you. You take the car to your dealer for an estimate of the repair costs. The dealer will contact the insurance company, then you have to wait (may be a week) until the other party's insurance surveyor (at an appointed date) comes and approves the estimate provided by your dealer.

I hope I also don't become an expert.

I'll call my insurance and dealer on Sunday to see what they can do.

Oddly, the other driver has the same insurance company as me.
I wonder if that will make it any less painful?

Prolly not!

Thanks for the advice folks!

Watch out that your No Claims Bonus is not affected. I was involved in a 50:50 bump where both drivers got a green (ie. not guilty) slip from the Police but my company's Insurers paid 50% of the other guys repairs under a knock-for-knock agreement. In the end, as my own damage was negligible, my boss paid back our Insurers the Third Party's 50% repair costs (Dhs450) rather than lose the NCB which would have increased next year's premium by some Dhs3,000...all very complicated I regret to say.
