Family area on metro line
So we're a British/Irish family moving (back) to UAE in September. My OH wil be working near the al qusais metro station. I'll be at home with a 2 year old and newborn. We want to live along the metro line if possible (or advisable). A 2 bedroom apartment in a block or area with access to amenities (pool etc). Any suggestions of areas.
I don't feel the need to live way out in suburban bliss. We'd love to be able to rent for 100000 aed with these requirements.
Or would we be better off forgetting the whole metro thing and living in one of the developments/cities further out? We'd only have one car so was hoping oh could use metro leaving me with car.
Utterly confused. Things have changed there in 10 years.
Help

Look along Sheikh Zayed Road (metro stops are World Trade Centre, Emirates Towers and Financial Centre). Mix of hotels and apartments. The towers on the west side have amazing sunset views. It's a generally busy area but some stretches are quieter than others, and there's tonnes of cafes and restaurants and bars around and you're a quick hop from Dubai Mall / Downtown. You can find a 2-bed for 100k if you negotiate. Probably the best way to find an apartment is to go from building to building and ask the security guards what's available and how much, as many buildings are entirely owned by the same management company and they don't advertise.
This is probably the best area for you as it's the closest area to Al Ghusais that's on the metro line and has a western presence. Marina/JLT are other popular options but would add another 30 minutes to your husband's commute.
