Yes as someone has already said, passport photos, I would bring at least 20.

Things I bring from home are Sure deoderant (they have 'Rexona' here but its not the same quality), Marks & Spencer chutney, cook in sauce packets, greeting cards (the ones in Doha are shocking), beef oxo cubes (not an easy find in Doha), Frazzles (strictly they are illegal here I guess, but no-one really checks). That would be very helpful to SAV123 if he were moving to Dubai. But he's not.

You can get Sure in Megamart but Rexona is exactly the same product as Sure , it's just branded as Rexona outside the UK.

You can get photographs cheaper than in UK. e.g shop next to megamart.

IBAN and SWIFT numbers for your UK bank account, if you plan to send money home.

Jam, bring some nice strawberry and raspberry jam. Tesco finest is nice, better than the flavoured-jelly-type-value-product available in Doha.

Air freshener, fabric cleaner and footpump for your hire car. Trust me, you'll need them.

Video cable to connect your laptop to the telly, for films etc.

Jellyfish sting ointment, if you plan to swim in the sea from around June onwards.
