Default Easiest Desert Trip From Dubai?

Howdy all,

I will be driving to Dubai in a few weeks time with the parents who are over for a quick holiday. They really want to experience the desert for a few hours so wondered whats the easiest trip out for say an afternoon or morning thats not too much hassle? I think its going to be a matter of bashing around a few dunes until we are sick then head back to Dubai so a full organized trip is not an option. We will be driving from Muscat if that helps.....

Cheers
Darren

Thanks Guys!

BlueCat - there is actually very little desert from Muscat to Dubai!

Shiva - I'd say middle of the road in terms of experience but Im not looking for too much of a strenuous outing, something easy that will allow us to see desert in all directions!

Cheers!

Why not do a small detour as there are sand dunes as far as your eyes can see on the back road from Fujeirah to Ajman.

Do fossil rock....you can blat through it in 2 hours or take a full day. It's an easy route and i think is in the vicinity of the end of your route to dubai.
It has excellent views of the desert at fossil rock (except for the power lines).
