Question The Dubai Underground - Where and When

When is it scheduled to open?
Any maps of the planned / prospective stations?

Do you think it will be good?

i can't see how it will be good...the stations don't seem to be near to where people actually live, so how are they going to get to them...

Map of the routes here: http://www.urbanrail.net/as/dub/dubai.htm

I expect it'll be bus or taxi (or indeed car) to the station. I wonder if some of the more outlying stations (e.g. Jebel Ali) will have car parks.

Will be handy if it makes the journey to the airport nicer, and reduces the taxi queue there
