Dubai Rental Law
trying to sort out a villa for a new member of staff, putting aside the ridiculous amount of money involved the landlord is being a knacker before we've even started
refusing to put the villa in the companies name, or if he does the contract is invalid if the named person vacates
insisting on a minimum 2 year rent as per "a new law"
I think he's talking bollocks and I'm about to tell him to bugger off, I am correct aren't I ?

Re: Dubai Rental Law
tell him to get lost. it can be in company or private name. there is no new law about 2 years minimum contract that i have heard off, he is trying it on as the rents will be coming down, so they are trying to maximise income now for a period of time and if you break the lease ie private names and you loose your job etc then he doesnt have to give back the money etc. stay away from him, go elsewhere

The only "2 year law" I know about is the one that says the landlord can't put the rent up for the second year. Doesn't mean you can't have a one year contract which is renewable. The landlord is trying it on, which doesn't bode well for the future.
