so to back this up they are going to have to create completely artificial tourist figures in their end of year report I assume..

or maybe they just won't issue the report this year..

Your guess is as good as mine, but that figure was published about three weeks ago.

The reality is (from people I know in the industry) that most places are struggling to hit 60%, and there are a stack more hotels due to open next year.

Nice article in the New York Times today, regarding a return to Keynesian economics. The approach exhoes Nassim Taleb's view somewhat as well.

freehold section in the gulf news shrinking rapidly, was a measly 28 pages on Sunday (last time I bought the rag).
Looks like the agents are stopping throwing money at advertising big time.

I take it that those ads are the basis of profit on which GN has been able to produce its whopping great issues, so maybe some slimming down of that to come..

and front page Jebel Ali palm garden Home @35% premium. Any guesses on what that will be down to next summer?
Although they should be due finished soon? which normally boosts the price..

Nice sms apparently from HSBC this morning:

Dear customer (actually I'm not a customer), for a limited time period we are offering up to 6% on term deposits for amounts above aed25,000

not desperate to tie up some savers money at all then, although I guess for the 6% it will have a large minimum figure..

The media mentions a bank guarantee, however I see nothing on the central bank web site and no fine print on how to exercise this guarantee.
