Re: Dubai bailed out of bankruptcy?
1st video is a load of tosh, if any business in dubai (perhaps the only one) is making money and definately not bust its emirates, nakheel, dubai holding etc arent bust yet but they are in the shit big time
2nd video is ok but nothing new that isnt well known publicly or well discussed on here.
you never did answer my questions did you, particularly the one where i asked you to justify your reasoning that oz would be global recession proof?

Your giddy celebration of Dubai's trouble is ridiculous, not to mention full of inaccuracies.

Harmful stones will never knock fruit of UAE tree : Paper
2009-02-18 13:14:58
WAM Sharjah, 18th Feb. 2009 (WAM) -- A UAE daily paper today expressed its complete astonishment at the way in which Western, other foreign and regional media are handling their coverage of the current economic situation in the United Arab Emirates.
''An observer of these financial reports can easily see that there is a tone of exaggeration and panic in the way in which they cover the challenges being faced by the UAE economy while, at the same time, they turn a blind eye to the measures being taken by the Government to handle these challenges in a calm way, without any fabricated fanfare," the Arabic daily Al Khaleej said.
In a front-page comment entitled ''One Tree'', the Sharjah-based paper expressed regret that authors of the reports had gone into great detail in their reporting while failing, at the same time, to adopt an objective approach to the reality of the situation.
It went on to say that the rhetoric in the reports represented an attempt to create division between the different emirates that comprise the country, by saying that each emirate was tackling its own concerns on an individual basis.
''Such an approach was inconsistent, the paper said, and would not be believed by any sane person who knew the country well.
''The UAE national economy is consolidated under the umbrella of the federal state ........ liquidity flows smoothly across the board, though it comes from diverse sources because banks from across the country lend to investors and developers from all emirates ...the markets in the country are deeply inter-related and investors allocate their projects to all emirates, in accordance with their assessment of the prospects of profits," the paper said.
'This cacophonous rhetoric about division has become a daily practice of the Western media but it is also echoed in the Arab and Gulf media, whether intentionally or unintentionally. It is derived either from ignorance, which would be damaging to the credibility of the reporters concerned, or it suggests the existence of a malicious campaign whose masterminds are trying to make use of the current situation to undermine the economic progress of and the achievements made by the UAE," the paper added.
''In both cases, the propagandists and promoters of such reports should understand that the UAE is a united federal state and benefits as a whole by the achievements made by each emirate... the resounding successes of some emirates have benefited the others. And, in consequence, all of the resources of government are mobilized to deal with the challenges being faced in all emirates." ''The Western financial institutions will discover soon that the measures taken to respond to the current situation are taken at all levels and those funds required to meet all obligations are fully guaranteed internally. These pledges have, significantly, been made from within the country to stimulate the domestic economy without making any distinction between the beneficiaries - be they UAE citizens, Gulf, Arab or foreign expatriates.
''All of these have reaped the fruit of the UAE economic boom .....the harvest is distributed to all emirates though some emirates have driven the engine of growth." "Truly, the UAE is a fruitful tree in the land of the federation ... only weak trees are affected by stones thrown at them. As long as there is a confident leadership at the helm (of the ship of state), then stones designed to cause harm will never be able to knock the fruit from the tree," Al Khaleej concluded WAM/TF
