Hi All

I have had a look around, but no-one can help me! I have a full clean UK driving license and have been waiting ages for an NOC from the visa authority, and am getting impatient! I have a freezone visa, so do i actually need an NOC to get the Dubai driving license??

The RTA website states that you must have a certificate of no objection from your sponser, but being as mine is the freezone authority is this still required?

I hope someone can help, as i am getting verrrry bored of taxis!

why not try going down withou it and see ifthey will give you a licence without the NOC. blagg it.

I didnt need one but I was Dubai employed not Freezone

rules have just changed, renewed my driving licence and re-registered my car recently, you need for registration of car a noc from company even though the car is in my name and i had a noc from husband, company one needed now, and if you are getting a driving licence the worker needs a noc from company me as a housewife only needed a nol from husband whether it will be the same for a brand new licence i dont know now but it seems that they are changing, so its best taking every piece of paperwork just in case

i am talking about AD and was adamant that now as a housewife with a car in my name, i didnt need the nol from husband i needed it from company.

in ad you have always needed a nol from sponsors for everything.

thank allah my visa,cars, license etc are all registered in Dubai.....

but the thing with the car registration in dubai is that it costs an awful lot more than ad.

and the advantage with dubai is that you can register 10 million cars in your name, unlike ad where it was only 1 until recently, and 'we wonder why there are too many cars on the road'

because i would have thought that as its a uae driving licence etc that the rules would be the same in both emirates etc.
