Hi JD,

as far as I am aware your DL remains the same and no need to do anything.

The E Gate was issued on your previous visa and or passport and if there were any complications it may well be worth getting a new one just to save any issues or hassles

No they cant they have to be over the age of 12 that is the problem when you travel as a family. I have been told that they will allow the children to go through once they see the passport but hey this is Dubai and god only knows what would happen.

Thanks chaps/chappesses. I did wonder how it worked, especially with trying to get a 2-year old to get her finger scanned.

The driving licence is fine - no need to change it

You don't need residency for e-gate, it's only linked to your passport number.

If you still have same passport number as when you got e-gate card you'll be fine.

Nope, had to get a new passport as my old one was full of double-page Saudi visas.

Just take e-card and your new passport the office at airport and they should change it pretty easily - the missus got hers done like that before her residency had been done.

I got a new passport in June last year with new visa as I changed employesr and did wonder about the e-gate card. Took both passports with me just in case but had no probs with my e-gate card.

Had the passport that you registered the e-gate card with expired when you last used the card to go through the airport? My passport expires soon but I wonder if my e-gate card will still work.

No the passport had not expired, it had a few months to run. Good point. I better call Dnata to find out as I will be travelling again soon.
