Default Drink and Food in Abu Dhabi

First time to ask a question here, I must be desperate.

Looking for a place in Abu Dhabi to take a group of expat construction guys for a few drinks and something to eat, not too expensive and with easy to get a taxi/not too expensive to stay afterwards.

Helpful suggestions greatly appreciated.

Unhelpful ones will be rated by the ability to make me laugh.

Chinese in Capital Hotel, followed by one of the 3 (maybe more?) bars in the hotel.

Bloody excellent Italian (Il Palazzo) at the Al Ain Palace Hotel, followed by Ally Pally / PJs / The Cellar.

Eat and drink in Heroes (Crown Plaza)--excellent band.

Eat and drink in Coopers at Park Rotana.

Eat and drink at 49'ers. I've heard that it does excellent steaks, then later on the meat market starts.

Thanks for the suggestions, might give 49'ers a miss, as although I enjoy a good steak, the other sort of 'meat' is not to my taste....

You should probably avoid the Ally Pally too then...

Is Abu Dhabi worse for that than Dubai?

About the same, I'd say: if you're sensitive about that sort of thing, its fairly easy to avoid.

If you're worried (jeez, I thought you were out with construction guys?), these bars are either hooker-free or virtually so:
Mardi Gras in the Capital Hotel, good band.
Heroes has the best band in AD.
PJs gets humming of a weekend, but (I've been told) is dead during the week.
Piano Bar in Mercure (formerly Novotel)
Hemingways in the Hilton
Can't remember name, but GF outside of the Sheraton Corniche
Captain's Arms
Plus there are various swanky bars that would bore me to tears...
