So just got a new passport, and unfortunately after leaving my last company (they let me keep the visa open for 6 months) I have to come off it.

I am going home for 2 weeks next week and will have to come back and get a travel visa, so what do I do about via runs? Someone told me you have to get it stamped where you entered or something??

You can use your old passport if the visa is still valid. Once your six months are over, you can get a 30 day visa upon arrival then pay Dhs500 at the Immigration Office to extend for another 30 days. If you do a search on here, you will find all the details.

What new visa? The whole purpose of doing visa runs is renewing the free visa on arrival..

I'm freelancing, so aye doing ok, but obviosuly not as good as I was - just done a 96 page world cup guide thats going in all the ITP mags so thats good, and now doing a 120 page booklet thing for AHlan! would you believe.

No reason for it at all - needless to say I'm not doing any work for them anymore so they now need to find a new designer who will do work as good as me (they loved the work) and as they were a new client and I was just starting up I went in really low with design fees - so when they do find someone no douby they will charge loads more than me, so in fact by screwing me out of AED 5k it will cost them 5 or 6 times that in the long run.
