Try the properties in Old Al Salatha here, in central Doha, so traffic and aircraft noise will be an issue. But at QR8k/m furnished 2-bed, they are good value.

Can people give me the names of some agents that you have used to get a property?

Cheers

Anyone know of any 2 bed villas on a compound in Doha? We have looked at apartments on the Pearl that are nice but don't want to get lumbered with big utility bills plus they appear to be asking too much for little facilities so we are considering other options.

3 bedrooms will be the smallest you'll get . Check the Al Waab and Abu Hammour areas .

Prices range from 10-15,000 and utilities will be no more than 300-700 per month for split AC units .

No but traffic is a nightmare into that area as you'd expect , will take you 10mins on a Friday but maybe anything up to 1 hour during peak times .

Think Salam Street / Trade Center Roundabout and you'll get the idea .

A,B, C and D ring roads, the north road, and up to Umm Said (whats all this Messaied stuff?) via Wakrah ( Home of the Wakrah Anchors' darts team...)towards the Inland Sea, and the pointy Sheraton in the other direction out towards Al Salam Plaza, and from there down to TV roundabout and along to Rayyan road, heading to Dukhan and Umm Bab and then towards the Salwa road and the industrial area. Doha, old style in 20 seconds!:D

I made an edit to your post as I think you missed a bit out when typing. Doha has the worst traffic and roads.....

Re: Doha - Where to Live

Hi there,

Just wndering where might be a good location (ideally compound based) to relocate a family - wife, 2 kids (both under 6) and maybe the family labrador? Is West Bay the best place, and if so, what are prices / likely commute time, etc.

Also, going off topic, does anyone have any info on relocating dogs, what are they perceived like in Doha, etc etc....

All help appreciated.
