It is scarey!
Also - what about the story in Gulf News about how the roads in Dubai are getting (even) worse. This stuff makes me wonder about the "overall" safety of the place.. is it getting better or worse?

Here we are still a bit safer tho we do hear the occassional horifying story. Of course its rarely on the news and its spread by word of mouth. All in all its still safer than any other country in the end. Well at least for the time being

I just can't shake the "creeps" when I read articles like this:

On the other hand - there are also articles like this:

It's difficult to know what to think.

We will never know the truth. They will always hide facts from us

And the bad news is he was found in a suitcase in the desert.
2 people were arrested.
Two people have been arrested - a man, who was carrying a British passport and a woman of African origin. Police say they have evidence that the couple had communicated with Steiner via the Internet and arranged to meet him. They believe that the couple invited Steiner to their home, where they killed him.
There's something a bit fishy about this, all is not as it appears.
Whether we'll ever get to know the real truth is a different question though.

They believe the body is that of Martin Stiener but DNA tests have yet to confirm this .

Yes I can. And the only way to get the true identity is for DNA testing, Im sure his wife is hoping that it is not him.

Emirates Today quoted police as saying it is him, "...facial features are still recognisable..." however they added DNA tests would confirm his identity.
They also claimed he met the couple through the internet, met them in a mall then went back to their apartment.
Sounds very fishy to me!

The crime rate has always been higher than reported - it's just that it was always crimes in the low paid communities - so no-one cared.
Now some rich people are also dying...shock horror!
The road death rate will keep rising until the government realise that getting police chiefs to say "it's appalling that so many people die, we will crack down" won't cut the death rate.
