Default DEWA and DU

Does anyone have a villa in their Company name? we haven't had this before and I am a bit unsure as to how you get DEWA and DU sorted out, previously we have taken the tennancy agreement and visa copy in our name and had no problems. Do we need a copy of the trade licence to be able to do this?

TIA

Who is paying the DEWA? My company pay mine and they sort all that out. For Du, I only needed a copy of the tenancy contract....

Shadya is an unknown quantity at this point

The usual Letter of No Objection from the company sponsor should be enough.

the Company are paying it, let me know how you get yours sorted out. Problem is our Head Office is in AD so I am guessing they are going to ask us to sort it out, time will tell I suppose. I will miss the internet

oh jesus - remember all the shite I went through?

you need to get an NOC from you company saying you can have DEWA and also pay the bill, then when you leave you need an NOC to say you can pay the final bill and get your deposit back.

yeah hence this thread, the Company are paying the DEWA, might not have as much hassle with DU as we are an existing customer but I am not holding my breath either. My house will be amazingly clean if I have no net connection!

For DEWA, the company sorted it out and for Etisalat, it was done in 24 hours, they shut off at our old house and next day I went to new house and they installed it, all that was needed was a copy of our latest etisalat bill from the old house, a copy of the tenancy agreement and they took care of it all at the Etisalat office. (we were lucky as we had a 7 day handover period)

good luck

Hi BC,

I can't help with DEWA as we pay it ourselves but our LL came with me to get it sorted (not sure if this is the norm? He is a very nice man) but it did take longer than they said to come on so don't count on it to be done when they say. I was glad we still had the DEWA on in our old place otherwise we would have been stuck so i would say make sure you have new one on before you cancel the old one.

With Du we had to send them a copy of our new tenancy contract and pay 100dhs for them to install it in our new place. They said someone would be in 24 hours but they took 5 days so again i wouldn't count on that either. I know it sucks having no TV and internet. I was lucky coz my mam and dad was here so just went out and about with them.

Hope this helps

the new place actually has DEWA connected already but it is must be in the name of the LL. The DEWA here is in our name so need to cancel to get the new one connected. We are moving Saturday morning, all going to plan As for DU I think I will try and sort that out today, then we stand a chance of them coming next Sunday?

Thanks Mrs H

I would do it as soon as you have the new tenancy contract. If you have it go for it! Surely you will get a appointment for next Sunday if it's all organised today! Good luck!
