Desi DNA in the UAE

Be interested to know how other Brit Asians find the experience of living in Dubai?? I get very tired of trying to explain to non-europeans that you can be both brown & british at the same time - they just keep asking "yes, but where are you REALLY from"...

That said, it is kinda nice to be the ethnic majority for a change!;)

hey all,

i just read your posts, haha!

it's funny how they want to put you in a category before they feel comfortable with you!

quick question: is it difficult to find a job here if you're a graduate with approx. 6months experience and a brown brit ;) (degree: BSc. Information Systems with Business Management).

Thanks all.

My advice if you're looking for a job is to knock on lots of doors - don't just rely on advertised jobs and the agencies! The British Business group is quite good for contacts, you should also target companies in your industry (DIC would be a good place to start if your are into IT)- I found that fellow-brits were quite ready to take my CV and circulate it.
