Clearing times?
Approx how long does a personal effects container from UK to Abu Dhabi take to clear customs?

Ours took just 2 or 3 days at the dockside - this was in July 2009. With Ramadan approaching it is likely to take longer though.

Yup - summer is slower than usual, Ramadan in summer is extra slow. But should only be 2-3 days more than usual ie. 4-5 days max. Depends if they choose to do a detailed inspection or not - this can add a couple of extra days and you'll incur the demurrage fees if it does.

There is every chance you will be charged a few hundred dirhams for a "close" inspection, as we were, but all our boxes were still "closed" with the original packing tape! Unless they x-rayed them.
