Default Changes of Profession, any advice?

Hello guys,

Ive been an admin assistant for 3 years ( more on office work) and will be finishing my contract here in jeddah next year 2014, im planning to enter the maritime industry (seaman) although i dont have any background and experience about it. I just want to try something else, is it okay or just stick to my job.

just for a change...

OK, newbie coming into the lounge and asking about a profession change, who's going to be the first to welcome him into the lounge..

Sorry Kristianking, but have you read any of the posts, threads on here, you will find they are mainly non specific discussions, and you are very unlikely to get any sensible, well at least to you, advice. I do suggest you read several of the threads, and you will see the tone of comments made, please do not get upset if any of the posts offend you, as that is the normal tone of posts on here. Most of the people posting here have been here for a long time, and developed a thick skin to ignore all the comments made. Not sure where you should have posted this, the ME forum might be a little better idea.

Hi and welcome to BE.

I am moving your thread over to the ME forum...as the people who are actually living in the ME may be able to help you.

Good luck.

Sorry, no. We can't take him.

He's not asking about a ME specific issue. So why should we get dumped with him?

Most of the replies to posts are tongue in cheek...so don't take them personally...most are just jesting. The sarcastic British sense of humour is rife on BE...something that most expats dearly miss after living in their adopted country for a while.
