pm me spugsy and by the way checked the prices in the Dhow palace and yes friday brunch choice of Indian, Chinese, lebanese, steaks, vegetarian and all you can drink beer/lager/soft drinks 111dhs if not drinking alcohol 75

I don't really grasp the Waxys concept. Who really wants a full English breakfast, all those drinks and a roast dinner in a sports bar on a Friday? On a Saturday evening, maybe.

ascot hotel..Bur Dubai...
on my first visit to Dubai in about 10 years i stayed there..Working on a friday and entered Waxy's at 5pm not realising that friday was 'Sundays' (in the old days of thu/fri weekends) and was greeted by about 5 people fighting, 8 young girls pissed out of their heads drinking aftershocks, old men (my age) leering over all the youngsters...
we just walked in with our coveralls on and got fired in......

are you getting annoyed at threads getting hijacked?
get used to it,,happens all the time...
now waxy's, its 60AED and you get 5 vouchers for drinks...I recommend going with your wife and a friend that doesnt drink...worked for me..

At the risk of getting back to the original subject...
No, you can't get calling cards in Dubai for making cheap calls abroad. Etisalat and Du have a cozy little duopoly going. There are ways around it if you have internet access but that has been covered before.
