Default Broadband in the UAE

Any info on what packages Etisalat and Du do that are best for western expats and what sort of speeds can you actually get especially in Al Ain. As long as the speeds are ok for iPLAYER and skype video.
Is Du only in DXB?
Don't want to sign up to a Sky+ plus type package when all you get is Al Jazeera.....

I use Du - 8Mb and TV for 279 with a recorder box, or 259 without.

I get about 6mb over the line, 2mb through the vpn. iplayer and skype is fine.

Just got the feeling Al Ain wouldn't be as advanced with its technology infrastructure as DXB or AD

Maybe not a bargain if you go over the cap.

very true, but you'd really be having to be downloading a lot to ever reach it. I'm online with the xbox most nights, and don't use anywhere near a 1gb a month. Streaming music is 10-15mb an hour at most. I prefer to buy a DVD and keep it in my collection after watching, rather than download the movie, so I'll never get anywhere near it.

I checked with BT back in the UK, and the worst month I had was 6gb, when working from home and downloading a lot of attachments.
