British Rally Driver Moving to Dubai
Hello,
My name is Nick Edwards, i'm a 22 year old british rally driver and am coming out to Dubai in December to work as a race/rally instructor at the Dubai Autodrome.
I have been planning to do so for a few months now but am struggling to find somewhere to stay, i.e an apartment or flat or even a bedroom. The main reason for me leaving the UK is to come and compete in the UAE Rally championship so am looking at staying for a few months initially then see what happens.
If anyone could fill me in on a few pointers on accomadation, transport, visa's etc i'd extremley appreciate your time.
Thanks, Nick

When are you moving?
I move on the 1st September, maybe we could look at staying together? Do you have a job at the autodrome already?

welcome, my brother-in-law is a rally driver. all seems a bit crazy to me - banging in to trees and the like - even a broken neck never made him retire

Having grown up in the Cotswolds and Forest of Dean area I used to take my Cossie's for some serious rallying and have been on a number of Rally/Track days around Wales and the South West. It would be nice if the Autodrome had some sort of Dakar style sandy rally course.
Good luck anyway, sounds like you got a good thing there, I would love to get paid for thrashing the sh+t out of cars all day.
PS - If you want to live near the Autodrome, I think Arabian Ranches is close, but if you wanna be out clubbing and stuff and near everything then your gonna be looking elsewhere.

I know Lewis Hamilton is young and stuff, but I don't know if I would be comfortable taking lessons from a 22 yr old.....
