Hi I know that I am not in Dubai at the moment but my sister has lived there for 20 years so I know a little about the area. Have you tried the schools? The expat schools will employ mainly British staff and if you have A levels or Highers or something then you may have a chance. The number of schools is increasing constantly - they may be looking to employ someone - you could maybe look at lab technician or something, classroom assistant (coudl do a short course) or in the admin depts. - Just something to think about.

Thanks, youve been really helpful folks. feelin a bit better about things today than i was yesterday.

Im 25 in the summer and have about 8 years work experience which im hopin will go in my favour. have previously worked as a receptionist, sectretary, data entry operator as well as others.

Guess ill just have to stick it out and keep looking!

any good companies to work for that you can suggest i look into?

For example; DIFC registered companies or any other freezone Western ones? They may look at non arabic speakers more than local forms. That's if you fancy a secretarial/admin role?
