Default Best Restaurant in Dubai?

I want to take the missus somewhere special (not the Hershey Highway or the Bourneville Boulevard ) and was wondering where to go. I keep hearing rave reviews about Gordon ******g Ramsay's Verre, and wouldn't mind a visit, although it is the WRONG side of the Creek.

Any other suggestions?

Verre is defo the best restaurant - not the setting, which is a bit average, but the food and service is amazing. I think it's better than his restaurants in London... and worth the long hike for sure.

Failing that, Rib Room in Emirates Towers is fab too (and Napa in Al Qasr now it's been changed, very similar to the Rib Room).

Vu at the Emirates Towers, great view of the city and found it had more atmosphere than Verre, however the food at Verre is fantastic.

Pier Chic is also really good and has a very romantic setting, especially if you have a table on the deck.

Not really, just want to treat the missus to a nice meal - cos I love her. Hope it's worth it!

Napa sounds interesting. Was it expensive, sassy?

You know LJ, you could easily have just rang me, and I did think your missus was putting on a few pounds.....

Forget Pier Chic, far too cold at the mo, go for Pisces at madinat, the second best restaurant in Dubai after ramsey's place.

As long as you like fish.

Failing that, hmmm, let me think.

Just gimme a shout.

btw, have you had enough of the outlaws yet?

Hmmm. Pisces was amazing, although it was with Michel Roux in the kitchen for the festival of taste last year.

Manhattan Grill is really good for the steaks etc - Gordon Ramsey's favourite DXB steak house...

Tang, at Mina Seyahi - because it has genuinely innovative food. Sadly, people in Dubai don't seem to be ready for it yet.

Well thanks, M, but I wanted to get a range of opinions rather than hearing, "gan doon Borgah King, bonny lad..." again.

And the nice thing about the outlaws being here is that I'm at work.

Verre is an excellent restaurant, but oddly, best when Gordon is not in town. Chef changed a few months ago - lovely guy. Great maitre'd & sommellier too. Highly recommended.

Other restaurants that I'd recommend are:

Medzo - Wafi City. Modern Italian, classy.
Zheng He's - Mina a Salam. Chinese, but very elegant.

Both have outside seating if it's not too warm/cold.

Enjoy
