Ok peeps,
English is not my first language and untill i was age 19 i understood the meaning of Obvious! so basically not knowing english I or we grew up listening to Michael Jackson and one other man! yes that man is Freddie Mercury!
Until only age 17 or 18 I learned that Freddie was a British singer! for us everybody was American, as you know for anyone to have a BIG name they must start from America or else they will only be known to the namods from his town.
Thats besides the point, my point is I dont know any song from Beetles
And I heard them but nothing ever impressed me! Ok I am not talking about me here, its not a one man show But even in general i know a lot of People who GET GOOSE BUMPS whenever we listen to Freddie mercury! His voice is just AMAZING! NOTHING LIKE IT. for me that is.
I was talking to my girlfreind and she shares the same sentiments! actaully she started digging her music collection and gave me a CD of Queen she said its his last album and he knew he was going to die after releasing that album. MADE IN HEAVEN.
i really think that Freddie mercury is the BIGGEST musician from UK! Period.
Kindly if you could share your feelings anyone of you who is from that time.

Interestingly enough, Freddie Mercury was an immigrant to the UK.
He was born Farrokh Bulsara to Iranian parents in Zanzibar. He completed his school education in India, with the family migrating to the UK from Zanzibar when he was 17.

Nothing to compare here.... they are both good in their own right.... each had a special sound to them, so its unfair to compare them, IMO.

I agree with face.....you can't compare the two...they are both fantastic and both have blasted the music market across the world....comparing the beatles to queen is like saying chocolate is better than cheese...you can't because they are different!

Yeah, their music is totally different and shouldn't be compared. Me and my hubby have been known to put Bohemian Rhapsody on very loud in the car, wind the windows down and just sing whilst driving many a time (usually after I have picked him up from the pub back in Blighty). But The Beatles, they were great too, mainly because of the swoonsome Paul Macca
but the song 'Hey Jude' always gets me crying cos its sooooooo good.
