Hi all,
I should be moving to Qatar over the next few months. My employer is an American company so income is in USD. I have looked at options like HSBC as I already have an account in UK (charging $25 for each inward transaction) and QNB (charging 1%). Any idea if there’s a bank in Qatar where I can get paid in foreign currency (USD) with lower or no fees? I truly appreciate your help. Thanks a lot!

During my six years in Qatar I can’t recall a single customer of HSBC who was pleased. Their Global view service linking to other HSBC accounts is handy, but their service quality isn’t great and their exchange rate margins are wide.
I used QNB and liked them. Your employer normally has to do a letter of introduction and should have some “relationship†with a local bank or two.
