did you talk to them about the case that you fear, i.e to be forced to leave the country all in a sudden?
Obviously HSBC won't know immediately he leaves Qatar, and if/when they do become aware they may close the account but I am 99.9% sure they would put the account balance in suspense pending advice on where to transfer it to.

I went to HSBC near City Center. To make a long story short, they said if my saving account has not changed for three months it will be deactivated. To activate it I have to go personally to the bank. Obviously this does not help as I won't make changes in my saving account every now and then.

You could add a little to it each month. Sure even $1/mth, or a very small amount, would stop it being deactivated?
