Hi. Have been posting questions about Oman here, but have now found out that we might equally be posted to Bahrain. Could anyone tell me the differences between living in either country? Pros and cons between the two?

My opinion.
Oman for a family. Laid back life. Good environment for bringing up children.
Bahrain for a single person. City life. Drink and have fun.

I lived in Bahrain for a few years and loved it but, as I worked for an airline, I got to leave the island for a few days at a time now and again. I think I would have got a little bored of the place if I was there all the time, this happened to some friends of mine. There are few things that don't revolve around drinking! If you like more outdoor type things then Oman would be better and, as others have said, is good if you have kids. There are good off roading trips, climbing, nice beaches and Omanis are very friendly.
