The comments, particularly Muslima81's show how the Magic Kingdom is progressing well in the modern world.

Witchcraft is still big business in the Middle East.

They don't practice a faith in a proper sense. That is voluntary, but this is all by force. Bloody primitives.

American colleague in KSA - convert to Islam - reported his housemaid to the police as practising witchcraft. No joke as potentially this carries the death penalty.
He had seen the housemaid "handling his clothing" and jumped to the conclusion that she was practising the Black Arts.

The ex-colleague who reported his maid for practising witchcraft was clerarly insane. The police probably sharted that oipinion and as far as we know took no action. An example of how converts can be crazier than those born into the faith.

Re: Bad news - witchcraft illegal
I would point out that many evangelical christians are just as bad on this score especially the "missionaries" to the developing world where they find an uneducated audience eager to blame their misery on all sorts of invisible forces. There has been a surge of killings and torture of suspected "witches" in many African countries that have been subjected to these arrogant proselytisers, not to mention other backward steps like the "kill the gays" bill in Uganda and retrogressive anti-gay legislation in Nigeria, Cameroon and Senegal. All inspired by the same loony outfits who are losing their influence back in their US home bases but rapidly expanding into new markets (in Asia also).

Well you'd kind of have to be, wouldn't you? It's one thing being programmed from childhood but imagine voluntarily choosing to accept all this stuff as an adult...

Very many of the Western converts I came across in KSA had mental health "issues". A poilite way of saying they were nutters.
