Sadly had the confirmation from a few friends in Al Hamra that these stories seem to be true.

This is Saudi Arabia - as Lou Reed once noted "Believe None of What You Hear and Only Half of What you see".

Update.. keep those pinches of salt at the ready people!
Subject: Update on Alleged INCIDENT AT KINGDOM MALL (UNCLASSIFIED)
J** S*****, OPM ** Office, has checked into yesterday's email reporting of a rock throwing incident at Kingdom Tower/Mall and has provided the attachment which is also posted on OPM's SharePoint. The document states,
""INCIDENT AT KINGDOM MALL" LIKELY FALSE". I have pasted below the section detailing the facts.
"AFOSI (US Air Force Office of Special Investigation) is following a few final leads on this "Incident at Kingdom Mall" email. The email was dated 22 May and the incident supposedly happened on 12 May. however, it appears to be a false report.
- The SANG (Saudi Arabia National Guard) G2 (Intelligence) has no record of this event (confirmed).
- Mabahith (General Investigation Directorate - the secret police agency of the Ministry of Interior) has no record of this event (confirmed).
- Embassy workers who live at Kingdom Compound have no record of this event (confirmed).
- The Kingdom Compound has not run their Kingdom Mall bus in nearly a month (confirmed).
AFOSI will release a report shortly of 'no confidence' in this alleged incident. It has all the hallmarks of the worst kind of fearful rumors. Most notably language like, "I heard it firsthand..." and "...on the floor and soaked in blood."
Regardless of the outcome of this inquiry, our people should remain vigilant and not take for granted their security within the Kingdom. Our people must keep informed, keep aware and blend in."
As more becomes available, I will pass it on.
