Architect/Project Manager
Hi,
I am currently looking to relocate to Dubai from Northern Ireland, with my wife and little boy. I am a registered Architect currently working in NI. I will be coming over to Dubai on 16th to 21st October to have a look at the area and speak to some Practices/Consultancies. Can anyone help with a few leads and costs/packages etc? Thanks Arc1 |
Re: Architect/Project Manager
Welcome to BE
Have a search, there's loads of threads on packages etc...also a few threads on architecture as well as some agencies that are specific to the industry in the wiki if you have a gander through that :) |
Re: Architect/Project Manager
Thanks for that :)
Hoping the trip out there will answer most questions we cant get answered here!!! |

Hi my husband and I are architects currently based in Manchester, thinking of relocating to Dubai. I would appreciate if you could help me out with some leads or companies that are recruiting at the moment. Thanks. |

As for packages, don't let your eyes light up when you see the £40-£70k +£15k housing allowance... rents on a 2-bed place are now about £30k per year (+5% deposit, +5% agents' fees, +5% housing tax). To give you an idea, we're resigned to not making any savings in our first year over here... although all that would change if I were to go back to work... bah! |

look on "just construction" and other similar agency sites, as they always have lots. I'm an architect too, although I moved over with my husband and baby daughter and am not currently working.

Thanks Arc1 it is a pity you are just missing out on Cityscape which kicks off tomorrow there will be some interesting projects on display which will give you a flavour for the works going on here |
Re: Architect/Project Manager
yeah, that's exactly why we came over - job certainty and not-so-run-of-the-mill projects.
Do it for the experience, but don't expect to roll in gold... but then again, since when have we ever been able to do that?! lol |
