applying for a visa for India in Qatar
Does anyone have any advice on how to go about getting a visa for India in Qatar? Is this something the embassy can help with? Im off to Hong Kong, and it's cheaper to have a 30 hour layover in India, so I was thinking of doing a mad dash to the Taj Mahal, eating a blow your balls off curry while I wait. Any help welcome!
Cheers.

Why not call them?
They will tell you where to get the visa, as they now have agent to do this visa procesing, they are no issuing visa in the Embassy.

For what it is worth... we've just been through this, but in Abu Dhabi. The process will be the same in Qatar, but you'll need to find the office yourself! It is quite bureaucratic. They need special size passport photos (2x2 inches, which aren't standard) and there are pages of visa forms to complete. It is worth paying the people in the office to complete the forms for you, as there are lots of odd questions which you could easily get wrong if you do it yourself online. It also costs Brits double what the rest of Europe pays - about GBP100 equivalent. Ours took 3 days to be processed.
To be honest, it wasted so much of my time that we'll probably chose somewhere else to go to for a short break in the future.

We got our visa to India in Saudi Arabia last summer via VFS GLOBAL this is the name of the agency who process visa globally nowadays. Call the Indian Embassy and they will tell you their contact number so you can call them and ask for the direction of their location.
