Our Japanese VR6 Golf doesn't like the high temps... it also speaks to me in Japanese and constantly drains my wallet; eating sushi and drinking saki, as it does.
It overheated once this summer, and immediately had it cleaned.
It's been fine since. I'm hoping it proves to be a cheap, semi-reliable mode of transportation for the duration of our residence in this country.
What's been suggested to me is: have the engine and cooling system cleaned and refreshed every couple of years for best results.
Even if I need to spring for a new head gasket, it's still cheaper and better than renting an Echo, Pug or Lancer... in the long run.
Are there any good shops to go to, other than Nabooda?
