If you can be a bit more precise, ie which countries and what do you mean by the 'situation' with schools?

'Partner' ?

You not married to the darling half who won't make a honest woman out of you, you ain't getting a spousal visa and your kiddies ain't getting visas either, and no schools take kids without a residency visa.

Be nice guys!!

LizMck..you need to
a. research
b. use the search button here
c. google
e. tell us where exactly your partner is looking for work.
f. realise that the Middle East does not mean the middle ages, ofcourse there are British schools in the ME. However, as has been said, if you have kids and are not maried there is no way you will be able to put your kids through school or get your "partner" to sponsor you or the children.

harsh!

... but true.

There are schools of all nationalities over here, following almost every possible curriculum. Some "British" schools that follow the British Curriculum say they are even Ofsted accredited, although I'm not sure how that works with inspections (cushy!).

They are also all private and profit-making, read EXPENSIVE. Do a search on here for fees. Even nurseries charge £5-7k per year and schools charge more... and it gets more expensive the older your child gets.

Thought u guys were a lil harsh on that woman..... lol

Well what your sayin is half true,

If the father of the child works here then he can sponser the children but he cant sponser his girlfriend. Look at U.A.E Labour laws No.8

Yes the schools here are expensive but there are good, not the best but def good, Plus your earnin more money here too so you should be able to cover the cost of school fees. But they are real expensive, a lil bit of a joke actually!

8-15 yrs ago most people here were on expat packages, you get the house, a car and the kids school fees done for you and you go a sweet package of money too, things have change alot, you really have to do alot of digging before you really think about moving countries.

Out!

I used to pay over £7K a year for a montessori nursery in the UK so it aint that bad. It's only when the kids get into school there really is a difference as most kids don't go to private schools in the UK.

Anyhow, as long as you negotiate a good enough schooling allowance then it shouldn't really be a problem that the schools cost a fortune should it now??

Few people get all school fees covered in the totality these days, even senior management in my company get capped at 50k per year. For senior years the better schools are above 80k per annum. I have always never been taken back by the fees as I was privately educated, but most of the schools out here are bog standard comp level charging the fees of a good quality private school.
