Amazon & eBay in KSA
Hi,
I was wondering if anybody has had bad experiences buying with Amazon or eBay to be delivered to Saudi Arabia (as for the customs or the postal service).
Which are your tips? I've been told that buying with Amazon in KSA shouldn´t be an issue.
Is there anything that won't be allowed to enter the Kingdom? I guess that books, CDs, explicit material (porn, etc.) against their policy won´t be allowed, but some countries also block other products or may them pay an extra (for instance Italy does that with clothes to protect their industry). Since u never know what is forbidden or not in KSA (even normal things to a Western eye), any tip welcomed!
Thanks,

clothes, books, cartoons, and some knick knacks are ok have ordered these alot. however some sellers on Amazon do not ship to Saudi Arabia.
what alot of people do here is have the items shipped to a U.S P.O. box and then from there have them shipped to Saudi Arabia, which ofcourse costs more. I currently use Aramex via p.o box. have also used http://myusmailbox.com/ before I love that they arrange everything into one box instead of forwarding one box at a time but the problem is you pay customs on the box.
so better to compare each order and see which would be cheaper.

Hi I am in Riyadh .
I have used Ebay about 7-8 times now within the last 6 months.
I just use my work Po Box Number and every thing upto now has turned up safely, no problems from Ebay at all.

Concerning Amazon though - if I was to order say, a game for my Wii to my company P.O.Box in Riyadh, would this just be delivered to my company without any hassle or would I be required to go to the customs to pick it up in person? It may sound silly but when I came over here I sent some stuff via airfreight and this is exactly what I had to do - it cost me the best part of a day to get my gear through.

Yes, eBay seems to be more flexible than Amazon, but I guess that's down to the individual sellers, have ordered a couple of things off eBay and had them shipped to my work address, both arrived safely. The first item from the UK took around three weeks, the second item from Holland arrived in about five days!
Just make sure you communicate well with the seller before buying, and get all the low down on delivery and postage costs.
