Re: Alternative to those pesky VP*s
How about if you fancy a little flutter?
What about if you want to read something about the Israeli Arab conflict?
What about if you wanted to look at expatriate.com.
We don't all have our heads in the gutter Millhouse.

Get yourself one of those TOR browsers and go surf the old deep web and see what the majority of the stuff you find is about

Effectively it's the poor mans vee-pee-en. It's P2P so it's slow, good for browsing, but not streaming media or DLing anything. You can 'read' websites, but that's about it usually. It's not infallible either, as exit nodes can be sniffed out by the authorities if they choose to do so. But for those without a vee-pee-en, it's an acceptable/emergency option to gain access to lawful websites back home.

80 quid a year will get you a good vee-pee-en account, why bother/ risk anything else? I get SkyGo, can read The Telegraph, use BBC iPlayer and download what I like, without Q-Tel intervening. Well worth it.
