HELLO PEOPLE
Have finally sorted VPN to actually access this site as it is blocked here. Have recently moved to Kuwait, am 25, born in London, grew up mostly in Bristol, recently spent 6 months in India and am now living in Salwa, Kuwait and working in the city. Am absolutely loving it here!! Even though my social life has been shot in the face by a tripple barrelled shotgun and multi action cross bow, things are slowly and surely improving, a sheesha all be it nice does not replace a pint in any shape or form.
The heat is insane and I've got to stop eating kebab type food, thankfully I now have a fridge filled with tomatoes, apples and bananas (not mentioning the kebab place round the corner, don't want to remind myself, must resist!), oh well I reminded myself, there's a nice kebab place round the corner, will probably go there tonight, there's also an incredibly expensive laundry that seems to love charging me a fortune for almost nothing! 250fils for a pair of socks are they insane or is it me? The dust is creating an interesting atmosphere, not one that I'm going to rave on about, not exactly nice, dust tastes like a combination of salt, vinegar and dirt.
Am working as projects manager for a beautiful company within a successful group and enjoying every second of every opportunity that is being presented. My real world background is in B2B IT Sales, Headhunting/Recruitment & Teaching/Training.
My expressiveness is initiated, enhanced and maintained through my massive passion for making music, meeting people, creative writing, messing around with video edits and generally being constantly inspired by the world around us.
Anyone else in Kuwait? I should have really had a look before writing this. Not quite sure what else to say other than HELLO EXPATS! Will have a browse around the forum. Anyone got any tips for a newbie in Kuwait?

Hi cyuill,
Welcome to the madness that is BE. So pleased that you have joined our motley crew.
I'm not in the ME myself (I in deep south USA) but I wanted to pop by and say hi.
I hope you enjoy being part of our little virtual community.
Sounds like you are having a blast in Kuwait.

Hey cyuill
Im in Kuwait - sounds as if your having enjoying Salwa (please tell me your not in the Arabian Villas - vile and horrible place !!) - Im in sunny salmiya
If your looking for (turkish) kebabs (like the ones you get back in UK!) try Hawalli (side road opp Deek Al Roomi) near computersville street - drop me a pm if that side is unexplored !!

Hey!
Thanks for the warm welcome! I am having a blast in terms of working my socks off, tasting the beautifully bitter taste of sweat and dust at the same time of sitting in the most ridiculously soul destroying traffic jams!! But 100% Yes, for some reason I am absolutely loving it!! Thanks for stopping by to say hi! I'm looking forward to random discussions about randomness!
CityGent, I just moved from Salmiya, it is a lovely area unless you were where I was staying!! I'm in the Spanish Villas in block 8, Salwa. Hawalli is a little familiar in terms of recognising the name, lol, but I'm pretty sure it's unexplored!
I understand alcohol is criminal beyond criminals, yet it is pretty easy to get involved in purrrrrrrrrr chasing but is there any form of nightlife here? Where can I find some live music?????
Nice to hear from you both!
