Al Khan is in the port area of Sharjah. I have been there a few times when I lived in Sharjah for 3 years. There are some beach hotels in this area which are not bad. I have been to one and have seen European tourists (mainly russian) but a few Brits on holiday. (No bevvies available though, so was a little surprised!)
There only seemed to be small corner grocery shops in this area.....and apart from a few "unknown" restaurants not much else there to be honest apart from lots of shipping containers (and if remember correctly, some sort of powerstation).
Like most parts of Sharjah, traffic can be a nightmare, especially if you intend to travel to Dubai in the morning and return in the evening.

There are some new developments being sold by agents in the UK on the Al Khan area. I needed to know if its a nice place for a holiday home and for a rental investment. The agent said that the government in Sharjah has a budget of $4bn+ to spend on developing that area and make a new marina there. I dont believe that theres alot on sale in the Sharjah?? Does anyone know of any villas on sale there?

rental investment - maybe, in fact I was unaware that Shj allowed expats to own land.
villas in al-Khan - no, it's flats and offices.

Be very careful about buying residential property in a mainly commercial area...it smells fishy for more than one reason.
